Industry and Nature in Harmony

Booking is now open for the 2018 Humber Conference

The 2018 Humber Estuary Conference will be held on Thursday 29th November at the Guildhall in Hull.

Many people and organisations have interests in the well-being of the Humber, but no one organisation has all the knowledge, legal powers and resources to ensure that all the legitimate users and uses – people, navigation, industry, agriculture, wildlife, recreation and heritage – can take place in harmony. The annual Humber Conference, organised by Humber Nature Partnership, provides an opportunity for all these interests to meet together and to hear about some of the excellent work which HNP's partner organisations are involved in.

This year's conference is themed around technology and innovation. Speakers will include Rodney Forster,  Director of the Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Studies at the University of Hull who will give an insight into how satellite imaging can be used to monitor changes in the Humber. We will also hear about the Living with Water project which takes a pioneering approach to addressing flood risk by making use of sustainable solutions that work in harmony with the environment and which also provide wider benefits to the local community and economy, including access to green space, improved air quality and biodiversity benefits. We do hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a very interesting and informative event.

Places at the conference are limited so please book early to secure your place.
